By identifying this issue, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd - a leader in the tyre manufacturing industry - has collaborated with the Delhi Traffic Police to organize Road Safety Awareness Week. This initiative was launched as part of the National Road Safety Month 2025 to foster safe driving practices among commuters and gradually minimize road accidents. 

With interactive awareness sessions at high-traffic intersections across Delhi like ITO, Connaught Place, Dhaula Kuan, and Punjabi Bagh, this campaign emphasized leveraging safety measures. It highlighted the significance of adhering to the traffic rules.

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. has implemented innovative steps for improving road safety by collaborating with the Delhi Traffic Police to launch an extensive Road Safety Awareness Week as a significant part of the National Road Safety Month. 

Under the theme ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha,’ this initiative began on January 16, 2025, and included engaging activities at high-traffic zones across Delhi. 

This program emphasized educating drivers regarding essential safety measures such as adherence to the traffic rules, the significance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and the danger linked with using mobile phones while driving. 

By conducting interactive sessions at essential intersections, including ITO and Connaught Place, JK Tyre fostered to foster responsible driving habits among people and minimized road accidents. 

Mr Srinivasu Allaphan, Director of Sales & Marketing at JK Tyre, highlighted the company’s commitment to road safety with innovative products like SMART Tyres and Puncture Guard Tyres to enhance driver safety via real-time alerts. 

Beyond this initiative, JK Tyre further engaged in diverse educational programs to train truck and other drivers, the general public, and school children. 

JK Tyre’s flagship event - the Constitution Club Rally for Parliamentarians- highlighted their dedication to promoting road safety among policymakers and other influential individuals.

Implementation and Services

The Road Safety Awareness Week was implemented from 16th to 22nd January 2025 at the targeted high-traffic zones throughout Delhi, like ITO, Connaught Place, Punjabi Bagh, and Dhaula Kuan. 

With interactive sessions led by Delhi Traffic Police and JK Tyre, commuters received training on essential road safety protocols such as helmet/seatbelt compliance, avoiding using mobile phones while driving, and adhering to traffic rules. 

This initiative further expanded with the Road Safety Bike Rally at Connaught Place on 31st January 2025, wherein 250 riders from companies like Swiggy, Yulu Bike, and Zomato distributed helmets, first-aid kits, and road safety pamphlets to enhance awareness. These programs involved around 350 participants directly and through partnerships in order to reach thousands of daily commuters. 

Beyond awareness, JK Tyre integrated advanced technology and education to foster a sustained impact on road safety. SMART Tyres and Puncture Guard Tyres offered real-time alerts to drivers by addressing tire-related risks faced by drivers. 

The company conducted year-round programs like truck driver training workshops, school safety modules, and the annual JK Tyre - Constitution Club Rally, mobilizing policymakers to advocate for safer roads. These services, combined with engagement with policy-level influencers, promote behavioural change across demographics. 

Additionally, the multi-pronged approach combined on-ground activation, tech-based solution, and institutional partnership highlighted JK Tyre’s commitment to minimizing accidents via preventive education. By aligning with the Ministry of Road Transport’s Sadak Jeevan Suraksha theme, this initiative showcased how public-private models can lead to long-term and scalable road safety results.
