The Sundarbans, the largest continuous mangrove forests globally, are breathtaking and fragile. Over 102 islands, dense swamplands, and an intricate network of waterways create an environment that supports over 260 bird species, estuarine crocodiles, river dolphins, and the iconic Bengal tiger. For the 4.5 million residents across 54 inhabitable islands, life is a constant struggle against the elements, relying on farming, fishing, and honey collection to make a living.

His journey began in school when he and his friends rallied to collect relief materials for victims of the Nepal earthquake in 2015. Ayush stressed that the honey is organic and cruelty-free and differentiated his company from others who extract honey at the expense of bees. He also pointed out that the villagers strongly bond with Mother Nature and wait until bees leave the comb before getting honey. The use of this ethical stance helps in the preservation of bees and the sustainability of the environment.

Sweetness of Ethics is more than a honey brand; it is a social enterprise aimed at enhancing the livelihood of the Sundarbans community. The NGO started an online marketing campaign that involved the creation of a distinct website by Ayush and his crew to differentiate honey from other activities of the NGO. The brand value is supported by a policy of channeling 70 percent of the income from honey sales to the community. Through innovation, this reinvestment strategy promotes economic empowerment and grows the region.

 

A philosophy that combines profitability and ethics governs the honey brand. Ayush's approach is not just business but the pattern of responsible and sustainable entrepreneurship.
