Karwaan Mission is working on a unique platform to reduce the impact of plastic litter waste on the environment in Cities in India. The initiative “ Plastic lao Thaila/Mask Pao (PLTP)” was introduced by Mr. Prabhjot Singh Sodhi, Senior Program Director CEE, Ex-Head of Circular Economy UNDP, and Member of the Order of the British Empire ( MBE ).This campaign aims to create a platform to encourage citizens, and plastics supply chain stakeholders towards responsible behavior through collection, segregation, and recycling of all dry waste. Encourage a knowledge base to all stakeholders that all plastics collected are recyclable, including multi-layered plastic packaging. Arouse the sensitivity in the nearby area shops, small street vendors and other informal sectors to contribute their dry waste, including plastics and take masks and Thaila’s in return. Recycling of all plastics to move towards a circular economy, which is in line with the Government of India's Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission, Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 and Global Sustainable Development Goals
