Interest-Free Loan and Scholarship for Higher Education is the flagship program of United Way of Baroda running since 2005. It is a need-based program designed to help the underprivileged students of Gujarat to complete their education. This project ensures that less privileged students of Gujarat who are needy and want to work hard to become professionals are provided support to complete their education. The students are selected through six levels of scrutiny process for selection. The project provides interest-free loans/scholarships for a college education. The project also provides mentoring support, personality development, and free laptops to the students and improves the standard of living of their family in the long run. The project is supporting 743 needy students in the form of scholarships, loans, educational kits, and various fee payments. Out of the 362 graduated students, 333 students are employed in National and Multinational companies, and rest are continuing for higher studies.

• Reach out to maximum students through roadshows and school visits throughout the state of Gujarat.
• Applications made available on the official website, print media publications in vernacular newspapers, and social media posts.
• A six-stage scrutiny process to identify needy students through eligibility checking, application grading, survey, final grading, home visits, telephonic interviews, and personal interviews.
• The selected students are granted the educational expenses as per the course requirement and their personal needs related to education such as free laptops for education, transportation, hostel accommodation, and food expenses during the education.
• Personality development sessions with expert talks by eminent personalities are undertaken during the get-togethers to enhance the overall skills of the scholars.
• Follow-ups and regular mentoring are done through e-mails, Facebook, WhatsApp, and phone calls.
• Data management and follow up for repayment.
