Industree Foundation, in partnership with the HDFC Bank Parivartan initiative, is implementing a Focused Development Program (FDP) in Karnataka. The program substantially supports farmers with resources and farm inputs to protect and maintain the bamboo saplings planted until it is time to harvest. It also promotes sustainable cultivation and management of bamboo by developing better cultivation and harvest practices and creating positive environmental impacts.

• Create economic opportunities for small and marginal farmers’ collectives, hand-holding bamboo farmers aggregating them in Farmer Producer Organizations for plantation of bamboo plants.
• Promote sustainable cultivation and management of bamboo by developing better cultivation and harvest practices, creating a positive environmental impact.
• Promote inter-cropping of medicinal plants/herbs with bamboo plantation to provide an additional source of income to farmers.
