Many schools do not have adequate resources to invest in teaching and learning aids. They lack basic infrastructure. Evidence suggests that achievement levels decline as children move along the educational hierarchy. There is a need for transformation in the way people find, learn, and consume educational content. Increase in School admission as a result of improved infrastructure and lab facilities, reduction in school dropout ratio, better teaching facilities provide a positive experience to students & attract quality teachers to the school, Better Practical knowledge.
Ignite+ is Bhumi’s school improvement program that works with schools, shelter homes, and other institutions for children with infrastructural requirements that is needed to be facilitated. Creative green learning spaces will improve the morale of all stakeholders in the school and are one of the many factors that affect learning outcomes, school dropout, etc.
Bhumi's Infrastructure Development of Educational Institutions Program (Ignite+) implements Building as a learning aid (BaLa), library building, teaching-learning materials, etc. We have identified schools with insufficient facilities and restored (or) built infrastructure facilities for over 20 schools. We are implementing a Model School in Rajasthan, a Government hospital extension in Mayiladudurai, Tamilnadu.
From broken, unusable classrooms to non-functional toilets, classrooms without furniture or even fully functional blackboards, barren playgrounds, and subject labs, several schools need improving infrastructure across Tamil Nadu. Ignite+ School Improvement Program supports the renovation of existing infrastructure and the addition of new infrastructure. This program enhances children’s attention and attendance disproportionately in schools.
All interventions are based on the needs identified for each school.
