PROSPER (Producers in Organized Supply Chain Enterprise) project “Propels producer communities towards sustainable livelihoods by becoming reliable players in global supply chains”. The linkages to global and national organized or formal supply chains, have the inbuilt advantage of adherence to fair wages and professional practices at the production level, which naturally protect the health, and safety of the producers and mitigate risk. In the banana value chain, the work with banana farmers and agri-laborers is an essential aspect of the project as it backward integrates the basket-making unit and rope-making units to the source of raw material and completes the end-to-end value chain.
