Bosch to enhance reach for skill initiative-Plans new centres in Maharashtra
Company aims to train 10000 youths annually under CSR programmes
Bosch limited which has emerged as a trendsetter in India in skill upgradation having trained over 11,000 through its training initiatives is looking out for partners to set up artisan centres across the country.
Bosch which has already set up artisan centres for carpentry in Bengaluru and electrical jobs in Nasik will set up another one for plumbing in Pune. It is looking to multiply it through other private companies in the allied fields and some have already taken up the initiative, Bosch Limited MD and Bosch India President, Soumitra Bhattacharya told newsmen here today.
Bosch which had pioneered in setting up long term training centre in the country nearly 50 years ago had trained over 3500 experts and some of whom have risen to the level of Vice President in the Company besides being in key posts. Even before Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the clarion call for Skill India, Bosch had made several strides in this direction, he said adding that under its unique Bridge (Bosch's response to India's development and growth through employability) nearly 7500 youngsters have graduated and the Company aims to
enhance the number to 10,000 annually, Mr Bhattacharya said. This short term initiative from the company found resonance with the Central Government's skill India campaign with the focus on mass employment generation.
The primary focus of this initiative was to help school dropouts to shape their life and help them become financially independent.
