COVID-19: DCM Shriram ramped up efforts in 50 villages under Khushali Sehat program
DCM Shriram Ltd, is working towards safeguarding the village communities around their four manufacturing units located at Hariawan, Loni, Rupapur and Ajbapur in Uttar Pradesh from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Company is already running an extensive community outreach program on health, under the name of Khushali Sehat. The efforts are ramped up across 50 villages of Hardoi and Lakhimpur Kheri district to control the spread of COVID-19. Additionally the Company is supporting the local administration efforts and catering to their needs.
The Company has engaged its extensive network of stakeholders, including, local community representatives, NGO partners, ASHA workers etc to create awareness at mass level regarding COVID-19 with a message of ‘stay home, stay safe and maintain social distancing’. The Company is emphasizing on good health practices by putting up banners. Various Government institutions and community areas are disinfected by spraying & fogging of the pre-requisite Sodium Hypochlorite solution.
‘COVID-19 Control Rooms’, are setup to ensure that 50 villages around its four manufacturing units remains COVID-19 free. These Control Rooms has been set up at all four units. These ‘COVID-19 Control Rooms’ includes processes for following up and reporting of all suspected cases of migrant population returning from various cities. These migrants are sensitized and monitored for any sign of disease through Gram Pradhans, local ANMs and NGO partners. They are advised to stay indoors and maintain social distancing. A special Sanitation kit which includes a mask, sanitizer, soap and floor disinfectant is also handed over to each migrant family. Sofar, through these Control Rooms the Company has connected with over 1700 migrants across four locations. This intervention has become a critical part in the response against this pandemic and in safeguarding the other community members.
In coordination with district administration, the Company is making every possible effort to ensure personal safety of frontline workers. 1000 quantity of each – N95 masks, surgical gloves and masks are provided to 5 Community Health Centers (CHCs) along with in-house produced hand sanitizer cans.
It’s a proud moment for the Company, when not just the employees but their families are also supporting the cause and contributing their time & efforts. 15000 home-made masks are provided to district administration of Hardoi and Lakhimpur Kheri under a campaign called - Face Behind The Mask. These home-made masks are stitched by the wives of the employees stationed in DCM Shriram sugar colonies of all the four units. These women are contributing their mite to the mitigation of COVID-19 crisis.

DCM Shriram Ltd donates 2.85 lakh liter of Sodium Hypochlorite to fight COVID-19 in Rajasthan
10th April, Kota, Rajasthan: Shriram Fertilizer and Chemicals, a unit of DCM Shriram Ltd. announced its initiatives to help Rajasthan Government combat COVID-19 pandemic. The company has donated approximately 2.85 lakh liter of Sodium Hypochlorite (Disinfectant) to the Rajasthan government to help sanitize the entire state.
The company has repurposed its manufacturing facility in Kota (Rajasthan) to produce Sodium Hypochlorite, a disinfectant used to sanitize surfaces. The disinfectant is being distributed to all 33 districts of Rajasthan by the State Government and State Health Departments. The spraying of the disinfectant has already started in the districts.
The company continues to work across its communities to educate and spread awareness on the prevention measures for Covid-19. It has also distributed preventive masks, sanitation kits, soaps, hand sanitizers and ration to the communities in order to support people during this outbreak.

The company has donated approximately 1.65 lakh liter of Sodium Hypochlorite (Disinfectant) to the municipal corporations of Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Rajkot, Navsari, Vyara and Valsad and also to communities and villages around its Bharuch facility.
