ISAP India Foundation proudly announces the launch of its Comprehensive Market Integration Project, aimed at boosting the productivity and profitability of 15,000 smallholder farmers in North Karnataka. Supported by a $1.2 million grant from Walmart Foundation. The two-year project will strengthen 15 Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), enhance FPO capacities, promote climate-resilient practices, improve value chains, encourage women's participation, and develop infrastructure to add value to crop production.

The initiative will enhance existing foundations by focusing on equipping FPOs with advanced training and support for effective market engagement. This will ensure FPOs, and their members become self-sufficient and market-ready and are able to meet evolving agricultural demands. ISAP India Foundation will bolster its collaboration with FPOs across five districts in Northern Karnataka.

Key Objectives of the Initiative:

1. Enhancing Agricultural Productivity and Income: The initiative will introduce advanced farming techniques, innovative technologies, and improved post-harvest processes to help farmers increase their crop yields and income. Processing and packaging units will be established to add value to farmers’ produce and expand their market reach.
2. Strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations: The project will enhance the operational capacity of 15 FPCs, with a special focus on encouraging women to become active participants in these organizations.
3. Market Integration and Sustainability: By connecting FPCs with local agribusinesses, corporates, and agritech startups, the initiative will open new avenues for farmers to access lucrative markets and secure long-term economic growth.
4. Bridging the Gender Gap in Governance and Programs: Recognizing the crucial role women play in agriculture, this project will promote greater inclusion of women in decision-making roles within FPCs. Efforts will be made to ensure equal access to resources, training, and leadership opportunities for women farmers, fostering a more equitable agricultural community.

The project is strategically designed to build self-sustaining, market-ready FPCs that are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the agricultural sector. By providing targeted training, fostering collective action, and promoting sustainable farming practices, ISAP India Foundation aims to empower these FPCs to lead efforts toward a resilient and prosperous agricultural ecosystem.
