Indus Towers collaborates with Sood Charity Foundation to install a new mobile tower in Dongargaon

In line with its commitment of enabling communication across the nation, Indus Towers collaborated with Sood Charity Foundation to install mobile tower at Dongargaon, near Gondia Main town, Gondia district in Maharashtra enabling seamless connectivity in the area. Despite being only 150 kms from Nagpur, internet connectivity in the area was low due to absence of a tower site. The residents of Gondia Main town had approached the philanthropist on a social media platform asking his help in improving the network in the area as students were unable to access their online classes.

This new tower in Dongargaon will cover two villages and a population of more than 4500.60% of the population of these villages are farmers and there are a high number of students who are dependent on online education.

Dinesh Arora, CCEO, Maharashtra & Goa, Indus Towers said, “Mobile towers are a critical part of telecom infrastructure and is key to enabling the best in education experience even in India’s hinterlands. Indus Towers is proud to collaborate with the Sood Charity Foundation for this site at Dongargaonto improve network coverage for the villagers by setting up of a mobile tower. The commissioning of the new tower has been possible due to the efforts of the community and the philanthropic contribution ofthe Sood Charity Foundation. The new tower will boost the network in the area so students can seamlessly access their online classes from the safety of their homes and villagers can get access to seamless mobile connectivity. Going forward, we will continue to create a robust and efficient telecom infrastructure aligned with our mission of enabling communication across the nation.”

On completion of the installation, Sonu Sood, Founder and Philanthropist, Sood Charity Foundationsaid, “Online studies have become the new norm. When it was brought to my notice that students were unable to do so because of lack of internet, I along with my friend Karan Gilhotra, approached Indus Towers to find a solution. In less than a month, a new tower was installed, and lack of internet is now a thing of past, helping hundreds of students seamlessly connect for their online classes.”

This is second such collaboration with Sonu Sood Foundation. Last year, Indus Towers’ Punjab & Haryana Circle put up a tower in Morni Hills, Haryana to enable online education for students around the area.
