P4G Grant For Public-Private Partnerships That Are Advancing Innovative Strategies To Achieve The Sustainable Development Goals

Organization:  P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030

Grant Amount: up to USD 100,000

Deadline: 15th February 2019

Description:

P4G, a new initiative with the ambition of becoming the world’s leading forum for developing a concrete public-private partnership at scale to deliver on the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. They bring business, government, and civil society organizations together in innovative public-private partnerships to advance solutions to meet humanity’s greatest needs in the areas of- food and agriculture, water, energy, cities and circular economy.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • P4G will provide funding only to partnerships in the start-up and scale-up phases of development and growth.
  • Start-up: Promising, early-stage partnerships that need support to consolidate the partnership or test the feasibility of innovative approaches.
  • Scale-up: Partnerships that are already engaged in promising, business-driven green growth innovations and need support to scale up and accelerate their impact
  • P4G partnerships consist of both commercial and non-commercial partners.

    Sequoia India invites Rapid Scale-Up Program for Start-ups in India & Southeast Asia

    Surge is for early-stage startups that are based out of, or building for, India and Southeast Asia.  No stage is too early.

    The program is designed for a range of different founders. It could be someone with just an idea and a PowerPoint, or an early-stage company that already has product-market fit and a round of seed funding.

    What we’re looking for is a high-calibre founder/team with a compelling idea:

    Whether you are building a startup for consumer internet, deep tech, enterprise software, healthcare, fintech, medtech, blockchain or direct-to-consumer brands – we are keen to hear from you.

    Why Surge

  • Early design choices can make or break a company. There’s the additional challenge of when and how to raise the next round. The early-stage fundraising process can be draining for founders who often go through pre-seed, seed and multiple bridges before getting to Series A.
  • Surge, an initiative by Sequoia India, is designed to help you clear these hurdles. So you can focus on building your business.
  • Founders who join Surge get access to the kind of capital, community, company building support and cross-border experience they need to launch or accelerate their company.
  • Surge, which takes place twice a year, is open to companies who are based in, or building for, the India and Southeast Asian markets. Each Surge wave includes 10 to 20 companies and runs for 16 weeks.

    World Food Programme invites Innovation Accelerators 2019 For Start-Ups

    Description:

    The WFP Innovation Accelerator identifies supports and scales high-potential solutions to hunger worldwide. We provide WFP entrepreneurs, start-ups, companies and NGOs access to mentorship, training, financial support, expert insights and WFP operations. The Innovation Accelerator is part of WFP's Innovation and Change Management Division.

    Eligibility:

  • Your start-up must be incorporated at the time of application. It can be for profit or not for profit.
  • Your innovation must at least be at the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage. Proof of concept is preferred.
  • Your proposal must show how working with WFP will serve your long-term strategy.
  • Projects should be designed alongside our core users, vulnerable communities and piloted at an early stage to ensure impact and maximize cost effectiveness.
  • Must meet the following expectations: Impact for the people we serve and potential to reach Zero Hunger, Feasibility, including time to deliver impact, technology maturity, and user traction, Level of innovation, Financial sustainability with a clear business case that does not rely on WFP funding and Team strength, experience, and commitment.

    Monsanto Fund inviting Grant Proposals For High-Quality Food & Nutrition Programs Addressing Malnutrition

    Grant Amount: US $ 25,000

    Deadline: 28th February 2019

    Description:

    Monsanto Fund supports high-quality food & nutrition programs in US Monsanto communities and International (outside the US) countries that address malnutrition by helping to ensure access and use of nutritious food. This includes high-impact programs/projects using a comprehensive, sustainable approach to increase access and use of nutritious foods, striving towards long-term behavior change to address under-nutrition and hunger. The food & nutrition programs we support target under-served communities, rural communities, and families with children under the age of five.

    We accept Food & Nutrition applications from organizations in US Monsanto communities and International countries during two periods annually. Eligible communities and countries are listed on the Food & Nutrition grant program webpage.

    Eligibility:

  • Organizations that hold a 501(c) (3) tax exempt or an international equivalent public charity.
  • All organizations must be incorporated as a charity and operating for a minimum of two years to be considered for funding.
  • Organizations who are units of government under Section 170(c)(1), such as public schools, villages and municipalities, and private schools primarily serving an economically disadvantaged population.
  • The nonprofit must be experienced and reputable; The Monsanto Fund does not work with start-up organizations.
  • The nonprofit must be financially sound; Proof of most current financial audit is required.

    The Al Qasimi Foundation's Doctoral Research Grants encourage scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to undertake research toward informing policymaking in the United Arab Emirates. The Grants are open to PhD students from all nationalities studying at an accredited university in the United Arab Emirates or abroad.

    Grant Objectives:

  • Provide opportunities for distinguished doctoral candidates to realize their potential in conducting innovative, applied research while making a positive impact on the Ras Al Khaimah community
  • Foster high-quality research that supports the development of the region's research capacity
  • Build a community of scholars and promote collaboration among highly recognized international universities and national institutions in the United Arab Emirates

    • Grant Eligibility:

    The minimum eligibility criteria for prospective applicants seeking Doctoral Research Grants:

  • Applicant must be a current PhD student at an accredited university in good academic standing.
  • Applicant must have a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 85 or IELTS score of 6.5 if English is a secondary language.
  • Applicant must have all PhD coursework completed and be ready to conduct the field research component of his/her dissertation.
  • Applicant must have a research proposal that is approved (or is in the process of being approved) by the applicant’s advisor and graduate program. The approved proposal should include a literature review and significant detail on research methodology.
