Project KEEP Releases Inspiring Short Film On The World Environment Day
Project KEEP - Namma Pondy Clean in collaboration with Pondicherry Municipality is excited to announce the release of a short film on the World Environment Day. The film showcases the project’s journey in its vision to make Pondicherry one of India’s cleanest cities, bringing together stakeholders in the city’s waste ecosystem for this shared vision.
Project KEEP, a CSR initiative of Godrej Consumers has been operating in Pondicherry in partnership with Recity Network, Local Administrative Department, Pondicherry Municipality and Oulgaret Municipality. The project aims to build circular and efficient waste management systems in the city. Through the concerted efforts of the citizens and administration, Project KEEP has successfully diverted over 1400 metric tonne (MT) of waste from landfills and professionalized 588 waste workers. To enable circularity in waste management, Project KEEP has established a sanitation park in Vambakeerapalayam with the support of Pondicherry Municipality, which has a capacity to scientifically process 3.5 tonne of dry waste daily.
The short film portrays various capacity building initiatives, campaigns, behaviour change programs, and partnerships with stakeholders that have propelled the city towards cleanliness and responsible waste management practices.
