Sooper Dooper Kids Does a Creative Collaboration with Dharavi Dream Project
Mumbai witnessed an exciting evening where 13 young hip-hop artists from Dharavi showcased their talent on the live stage for the first performance of Dharavi Dreams - India's first musical hip-hop theatre production. Written and directed by Neha Singh, the Hip Hop production was beautifully executed by the young artists who delivered an inspiring performance filled with dance, music, and acting, sharing stories of hope, resilience, and dreams.
Sooper Dooper Kids, an impact-focused clothing brand with its One Purchased is One Donated promise was thrilled to be a part of the Dharavi Dream Project and Rahi Theatre Collaboration that has created a platform for these kids to learn Hip Hop and showcase their talent.
Dolly Rateshwar, Co-Founder at The Dharavi Dream Project says, "We are thrilled to collaborate with Sooper Dooper Kids, a brand that shares our commitment to empowering youth through creativity. Their generous support in providing T-shirts for our cast not only enhances the visual identity of 'Dharavi Dreams' but also reinforces the message that together, we can uplift and inspire the next generation. This partnership exemplifies how community and creativity can come together to create something truly impactful."
Nevil Darukhanawala, Founder of Sooper Dooper Kids, believes that music and dance can be empowering for kids, "It was a proud moment for our brand to see these talented dancers take the stage wearing custom-made Sooper Dooper Kids t-shirts, specially designed for the event. It's amazing how The Dharavi Dreams Project has created a platform to empower young talent to pursue their passion and dreams and we hope to be a part of their ongoing impact journey".
Her Highness Sheikha Arwa Al Qassimi of UAE, an investor in Sooper Dooper Kids, was equally excited about the unique collaboration. She highlighted its potential to uplift the lives of talented kids from underserved communities and emphasized that the Dharavi Dream Project aligns perfectly with Sooper Dooper Kids mission to create a positive impact.
The Dharavi Dream Project is a hip-hop movement that started as an idea for under-resourced kids in Dharavi- Asia’s largest slum, to have free and easy access to the “After school of hip-hop”. The values derived from this art form can empower the kids to share thoughts and express themselves through music, dance, and graphics openly.
Sooper Dooper Kids is a clothing brand for kids with a difference. It’s a platform for teaching children the values of kindness, inclusivity, and giving. Their mission is to teach kids that fashion is not just about wearing but also about caring and sharing. The impact-driven brand works on the philosophy of ‘One Purchased = One Donated’- which means that every time one shops from the brand, one t-shirt goes to a less-privileged child across India.
To achieve this vision the brand partners with NGO’s working with kids and distributes the donated t-shirts monthly at fun-filled impact events. Working in close partnership with Team Up Foundation, an NGO founded by Arvind Kukreti the brand will continue to expand its impact and celebration of all kids at impact events like the Dharavi Dream Project, and previously held events with Access Life Foundation India and Giving Tree Foundation.
The brand also expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who purchased their t-shirts, which made it possible for our brand to donate t-shirts to the dancers, crew, and volunteers for the Dharavi Dream event. Additionally, Sooper Dooper Kids is open to corporate and CSR partnerships to expand its reach and encourage kids to shop with a purpose.
