Swachhata Mela by HCLFoundation and Noida Authority to Promote Clean Noida
HCLFoundation, which drives the corporate social responsibility agenda of HCLTech in India, today organized Swachhata Mela 2026 in collaboration with the Noida Authority
Swachhata Mela 2026 organised under the guidance of Mr. Krishna Karunesh, IAS, CEO, Noida Authority, celebrates the city’s progress in cleanliness and sustainable living. The event brought together over 5,000 participants, including school students, teachers, RWAs, sanitation workers, urban village residents, NGOs and officials from the Noida Authority.
The event featured panel discussions and expert talks on waste segregation, circular economy and citizen behavior, along with cultural performances by students and community groups. A dedicated Swachhata Exhibition highlighted the long-term impact of HCLFoundation’s My Clean City program—showcasing progress in sanitation, waste management and behavior change achieved with strong support from the Noida Authority.
Smt. Vandana Tripathi, IAS, ACEO, Noida Authority, attended the event as the Chief Guest. “Sustained cleanliness outcomes depend on strong sanitation systems, efficient service delivery, and active citizen cooperation. In partnership with HCLFoundation, Noida Authority has been working to strengthen waste management processes while recognising the critical role played by sanitation workers on the ground. Swachhata Mela provides a structured platform to engage communities, reinforce responsible behaviour, and align citizens with the city’s long-term cleanliness objectives,” she said.
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of sanitation workers, school students, teachers and Waste Champions, recognising their contribution to cleanliness initiatives across Noida and Greater Noida. Sanitation kits were provided to 5,100+ Safai Karamcharis. Schools participating in the My Clean City Waste Champion programme were also recognized for promoting awareness and action among young citizens.
“At HCLFoundation, we believe that sustainable urban transformation is driven by long-term partnerships and empowered communities. Cleanliness is not only about infrastructure, but about nurturing shared responsibility, dignity, and trust across the urban ecosystem. Through our My Clean City program, we work closely with institutions and citizens to enable behavioural change at scale, and Swachhata Mela 2026 reflects our commitment to building inclusive, people-led solutions for cleaner and more resilient cities. Through this platform today, I convey my deepest gratitude to all sanitation workers of Noida who work to keep our city clean,” said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, SVP, Global CSR at HCLTech and Director, HCLFoundation.
My Clean City is redefining urban sanitation in Noida and Greater Noida through science-led waste management and strong community participation. Through this program, nearly 750,000 citizens have been sensitized on positive waste behavior, 61,000+ stakeholders have been trained on waste management practices and 50,000+ tons of waste have been managed. Technological innovation & support through development of Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC) for operations management, provision of HomoSep robot for mechanical cleaning of manholes/septic tanks, and deployment of E-garbage loaders for waste collection have provided impetus to the cleanliness revolution. Over 2,400 school students are also engaged through the MCC Waste Champions Club.
