The Trelleborg India global engineering group, which specializes in polymer technology, has now teamed up with the nationally recognized NGO, the Aahwahan foundation, based out of Bangalore, to engage in social activities for the community. The duo had a common goal which is the betterment of society. Trelleborg’s CSR team has been working tirelessly to help society and they have been taking initiatives to give life, hope, and joy to the country. Theduo came together to achieve the NGO’s desired goal of a 1 crore tree plantation. The plantation drive took place in Jigani, Bangalore, Karnataka. There was a formal inauguration where the NGO and the company came forward to plant the saplings followed by the felicitation. The guests were invited from Germany, Mr. Konrad Saur, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Niel, Mr. Michael, Mr. Alex, and Mr. Yutaka came all the way from Germany to inaugurate this plantation drive along with the local leaders and supporters. The NGO, Aahwahan foundation, and the company, Trelleborg India were well prepared with the requirements and planted their responsibility along with the saplings. It was their way of showing respect and gratitude for mother nature.
The founder of the Aahwahan foundation, The Greenman of Bangalore, Mr.Braja Kishore Pradhan stated that “Aahwahan foundation’s primary goal is to restore Bangalore to be the garden city it was known for. The Tree Man of India made a very bold statement by claiming that “Every individual has to plant at least one tree in their life time. Be it a student, working individual or senior citizen. It is vital to plant a tree and also take care of it” He added “It is the responsibility of every individual to take care of the tree. If you are alive today thank the trees for the oxygen they supply”.The founder also raised a challenging question asking “If it is the responsibility of the kids to take care of the parents for the motherly affection why is the same responsibility not followed towards the mother nature? His challenging question made us all rethink the way we live.
The ultimate goal of the plantation effort was clearly visible which is to emphasize the value of trees. Nature would appear lifeless without trees. Everything that is found in the trees, from fruits and vegetables to medicine and air, makes greenery more significant. In an effort to restore Bangalore to its former glory, when it was known as the garden city, the Aahwahan foundation has been working excessively hard. With the help of the Aahwahan foundation's activities and Trelleborg India's assistance, Bangalore can reclaim its former identity.
