Kickstarting the third phase of their social development project with Vision Spring, Jaipur Rugs Foundation organized eye care camps in Bikaner for the katwari community. With more than 3000 eye checkups done within a week, more eye screenings and distribution of spectacles are still going on. This year, Jaipur Rugs Foundation and Vision Spring planned to organize eye care camps and distribute spectacles to over 35,000 katwaris and weavers in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

With more than 65% of the Indian population living in rural areas, access to quality healthcare is one of the most challenging tasks for the community. Faultless vision remains an utmost necessity for the artisan community. During these three years of partnership, Jaipur Rugs Foundation and Vision Spring were successful in conducting eye check-up camps across 242 villages. The first and second phases of the project facilitated eye screenings and glass dissemination for more than 23,000 artisans.
