About the organization
Jan Swasthya Sahyog has been working in healthcare provision in rural Bilaspur for the last 20 years through a community health program and a referral center in Ganiyari village. The population served belongs to poorer sections of the society (Adivasi, Dalit, and backward classes) with the main occupation being agriculture or agro-forestry. Extremely low-cost care has been provided to 300,000 patients drawn from over 2500 villages (population 15 lacs) of Chhattisgarh and adjoining districts of eastern M.P. Inpatient services with 100 beds; 3 major operation theatres and a labor room have provided high-quality surgical services to more than 32,000 patients. Over 25,000 inpatients have been admitted for serious illnesses. Where needed, JSS has been able to organize proper referral for tertiary care necessary in illnesses among the poorest. We also work closely with public facilities to improve maternal and neonatal healthcare provision in 6 districts of M.P.

All the projects of JSS are in line with the first subject of the schedule.
