About the organization
India’s population is one of the youngest in the world and the numbers are only going to increase in the coming years. The huge populace getting access to education and getting ready to enter the workforce can go in either direction for India- it can an immense potential that can be leveraged to have a considerable portion of the world’s youth population to fuel the economy by contributing their skills in various different sectors, or it can be a huge liability wherein the incoming supply of freshers struggle to find jobs and have to be taken care of at the cost of public money. At the moment, the situation is quite precarious as multiple studies show thatthe majority of the youth entering the workforce is unemployable, and lacks the skills to pick up the moderate to high skilled jobs that are available in the country.
Edunet Foundation is focused on bridging the academia-industry divide, enhancing student employability, promoting innovation and creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem for youth. Edunet Foundation is a non-profit organization that believes that lasting changes to society can only come from ubiquitous, high quality, market-relevant educational interventions to youth and the underprivileged.
Edunet Foundation believes that Innovation and Entrepreneurship aren’t merely subjects that can be taught inside urban classrooms but are mindsets that need to be inculcated in the youth at every level of society in order to make the youth self-sufficient without having a lookout for greener pastures in select cities of the country.
The idea is not to just provide the technical know-how of the latest technology in the market at the present moment as that is not a sustainable solution. The virtue of technology is that it is ever-evolving and dynamic. The idea is to provide the youth with the long-term human skills and entrepreneurial mindset that equips them to be adaptable and lifelong learners, making them invaluable contributors regardless of the field or capacity that they are associated with.Edunet Foundation was founded in 2015. It promotes youth innovation, tinkering, making and helps young people prepare for industry 4.0 jobs. Edunet Foundation has a national footprint. It is associated with regulators, state technical universities, engineering colleges and high schools around India. Edunet Foundation has worked with multiple organisations such as IBM, UC Berkeley, and Aditya Birla Group.
