About the organization
Quick Facts
Paramhansa Yogananda Public Charitable Trust was incepted on 6th August 2015
One of the largest widow-welfare organizations in India; Location: Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh
Since last 8 years the Trust has rehabilitated thousands of aged, abandoned destitute women, mostly widows, begging and living on the streets in abject poverty, disease and deprivation, giving them back a life of dignity and self respect. Currently, more than 3,200 of these destitute, abandoned Mothers receive complete need-based care on a daily basis.
Provides free medical treatment to all Destitute (Children, Women and Men of all ages, without any discrimination) from economically weaker sections of the population. This includes OPD consultations, investigations, Hospitalization, surgeries, transplants and treatment for life threatening diseases. The Trust has supported more than 3,38,000 beneficiaries for free medical treatment, including more than 1,00,000 surgeries and hospitalization (including Cancer, heart ailments, kidney failure and transplants) saving lives and making critical medical care available to lakhs of poor and destitute, positively impacting health of the population
The trust has spent around 50 crores on the above programs covering almost 100% of the needy population in Vrindavan. The very aged and infirm (needing intensive care) are housed in care homes. Other Mothers are served in the communities where they live the program “Our Community Our Ashram” program (an endeavour to create Ashram without walls). This has changed the scenario in Vrindavan completely, reducing begging on the streets and deaths due to poverty, deprivation and lack of medical care.
A unique, spiritual principles based, Heart of Seva program trains staff and volunteers how to serve with love and compassion

Why should a corporate partner with organization?
The Need for Matri Seva (Widow Welfare)
Vrindavan is home for appx 10,000 widows
Many of these are aged and have been abandoned by their family or have been forced out of their homes due to various circumstances
Traditionally these women have flocked to holy places like Vrindavan, Varanasi and Puri in search of help and solace
Due to advanced age, lack of literacy and age-related ailments, it is almost impossible for them to do any work to earn a living.
Some of them earn a meagre amount by singing Bhajans. Others were forced to beg and live on the streets in abject poverty.
With woefully inadequate government infrastructure, they have almost no access to medical care facilities and lived a life of suffering and neglect.
Need for Aarogyavardhan Medical Program
The Government medical infrastructure in Vrindavan is unable to cope up with the existing need for medical care.
The healthcare system is grossly inadequate and there is lack of access to social security or governmental support.
Many destitute do not have the necessary documents for charitable donations, government aid or even hospital admissions.
They often die from preventable illnesses or injuries due to insufficient medical care.
