About the organization

The best time to start a revolution was twenty years back. And that’s about when Yuva began to take shape as a social movement started by a small group of zealous individuals who, led by our Founder Amitabh Shah, believed in the power of youth and had the passion to spread kindness. Amitabh Shah decided to launch the movement when he witnessed the immense sufferings of the people from the weaker socio-economic background. Further, he believed that the younger generation has the potential to propel the society into a higher stature by breaking down such barriers of social inequality and it was with this belief that the group began volunteering at homes for the elderly, slums and orphanages.
From random acts of kindness to school, college and corporate volunteering/engagement activities, the volunteer movement grew to today evolve into India’s premier 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has mobilized over 1.5 Lac youth ambassadors, change-makers, and Samaritan volunteers. We have impacted over 6 lac children, transformed 1500 government schools, and created Digital Classrooms in 850 schools across more than 14 states of the country. We are working with top corporates across the country to create a tangible roadmap for the betterment of society. We aim to make a difference in the lives of children at the bottom of the pyramid by providing better toilets & improved drinking water facilities (WASH), scholarships, digital classrooms, Information, Education and Communication (IEC), and community empowerment.
Our vision is to transform 10,000 schools, award 10,000 scholarships, and impact 50,00,000 children. We envision enhancing self-belief, gratitude, and compassion among the children and all stakeholders. We work in partnership with public and private sector organizations to address a key developmental challenge for quality education and inclusion, thereby enabling value creation for individuals and society.
In 2015, we received Innovative Philanthropy Prize by Prince Albert II of Monaco wherein Jack Ma was one of the finalists. In 2017, we were awarded the IBM Impact Grant. Statesmen like Indian PM Narendra Modi and late President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Bollywood legends like Akshay Kumar, R Balki, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, cricketers VVS Laxman and Sir Ian Botham, authors Jeffrey Archer, and Chetan Bhagat, global leaders like Paul Polman (Former CEO, Unilever), Gautam Adani among others have participated in Yuva initiatives to inspire all.

Why should a corporate partner with organization?

Yuva Unstoppable is here to shatter boundaries, break stereotypes, and inspire the world for a better tomorrow. Our model of action is based on inspiration. We are working with 100 top corporate partners (HDFC Bank, UPS, Indigo, HDFC Securities, Coke, 3M, IBM, Google, Hexaware, Adani, Reliance, UNICEF, United Way, and others) and inspire them to care. We inspire children for greatness, the pursuit of happiness, and awareness in the smallest of things.

We transform government schools to make the lives of children from low-income communities better. Our key focus area is sustainable human capital development through the creation of a child-friendly learning environment in schools. We do this by building high-quality hygiene and sanitation infrastructure, empowering students through capacity building and value-based education, providing educational scholarships to meritorious but needy students, and implementing a Technology-based Education (or EdTech) initiative called the digital classrooms program aimed at upgrading access to learning technology in hundreds of inner-city government schools.
Our interventions are intended at keeping more and more students in schools through enhanced attendance, increased enrolment, and decreased dropouts especially among girls due to lack of access to safe and hygienic sanitation, drinking water facilities and advanced teaching-learning technology in schools. We support and motivate the students to come to school regularly, stay interested and perform better in studies so that they can eventually break the generational cycle of poverty. We ensure their all-round development through mentoring.
Going beyond our immediate beneficiaries, we also facilitate awareness and engagement interventions for community empowerment, as we believe that community is one of our core stakeholders at all times. We do this by conducting home visits, awareness campaigns and drives on key focus areas like personal hygiene and cleanliness, menstrual hygiene, the importance of education, etc., and initiating dialogues with community members.
A key strength of Yuva Unstoppable’s success is the power of strongly committed youth volunteers. Some of the key strategies for success adopted by us include: a. Responsible organization involving strong networks and volunteers, b. Monitoring and Evaluation, and c. Partnerships with public and private sector organizations.
